Bidding Prayers for Sunday 17th April 2016

Intercessions

As God’s forgiven people, let us ask the Lord to bless us with the gifts we need to sustain us on our way.

Let us pray for the Church and especially for TESSAC – (The Ecumenical Society of St. Augustine of Canterbury). For the forthcoming consecration to the office of Bishop of Canon Tony, our current Vicar General, and that of Canon Steve who will succeed him in the office of Vicar General. Please keep them in your hearts and minds and that of all the clergy and bishop’s of TESSAC, and that the Holy Spirit may enable her to bear witness to the transforming power of the risen Christ working in her members.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for the Pope, for his gift of the apostolic exhortation and for his loving blessing on all our families.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for all refugees who make perilous journeys as they seek a better life for their families, and ask for God to hold them safe in his loving embrace.

Lord, mercifully hear us

As drought starts to affect some countries, we ask for God’s blessing on their people, that they may find food and water, and keep their families healthy and safe.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We ask for God’s protection for the abducted Nigerian schoolgirls and pray that they will be able to return to their families safe and sound; and we pray for anyone held against their will or kept in slavery.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for all those who work hard to keep us safe from terrorism: may they know that their efforts are worthwhile and effective.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for all children and young people with mental health problems: may they receive the help and treatment they need to live happy and fulfilled lives.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for students preparing for their exams: may they find the time, space and concentration to study and be well prepared to do their best.

Lord, mercifully hear us

We pray for all who struggle with cancer. Empower them with hope for each and every day. Provide them with loving and tender care, laughter, and the support of love. Grant them courage when they are afraid, comfort when they are in pain, and your blessing when all else seems hopeless.

Lord, mercifully hear us

Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee,
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen

Eternal Father, look with kindness on the needs of the whole human family and bless us with your peace; though Christ our Lord, we ask you to hear our prayer now. Amen.
